05 Dynamics & Structure of The (Freudian) Psyche


As Freud continued to develop his psychoanalytic work, he came to adopt a dynamic model of the psyche. This model is 'economic' in the sense that psychic tensions between the component parts of the psyche (id, ego, superego) are resolved at various 'equilibria' (or states of balance) through the ego's use of diverse defence mechanisms.
